Over time, brands find ways to recycle and upgrade their older designs and sometimes, these new and improved pieces become instant hits. Take Gucci’s G buckle belt for instance. Personally, I can’t remember the last time I put on a belt with the brand’s logo as a buckle; it just seemed like a tacky thing to do.
Until now, that is.
Celebrities, bloggers, influencers and pretty much everyone who’s anyone have been wearing Gucci’s latest take on the logo belt and it seems to have become the IT piece overnight.
Retailing at about Rs. 30,000 a pop, they aren’t exactly on the cheaper side. But going solely by the way they look, they definitely have the power to make something as simple as jeans and a basic tank look fabulous.
Which is probably why so many people have been spotted wearing it in such a short span of time.
The great part about the belt is that it looks good with pretty much anything. A skirt, your jeans, culottes; which is possibly why we’ve spotted Rosie Huntington-Wheteley wearing it not once, but twice.
Of course, like every other trend out there, if it’s hot right now, chances are that Kendall Jenner has already tried it.
But you’ve got to give props to her stylist, Monica Rose who spotted the trend and then had pretty much all her clients wear it in different ways.
Miranda Kerr took it up a notch and went with embellished double Gs. Which instantly makes any look more nighttime appropriate, don’t you think?
Meanwhile, closer to home, while we haven’t seen anyone in Bollywood take on the season’s IT belt, blogger Juhi Godambe wasted no time in pairing it with a handful of outfits.
What we’re trying to say is that the accessory is still on it’s way up, so if you’re due to buy a new belt, you know which store to hand over your credit card at.
