Devanshi Kapadia

Take note fashionistas, Paris is where it’s at and these trends are going to be big!

Paris Fashion Week SS 18 has just come to an end and left us wanting to burn a hole in our pockets, willingly. Now that the fashion powerhouses have gathered and strut their stuff down the runways, it’s just a matter of time and we’re going to see these Spring / Summer trends everywhere.

Feathers

We first saw feathers down the Milan Fashion Week runways. Most recently, we’ve been seeing bold, statement feathers in Paris too. On some models, feather traced the body of an entire outfit and on other, they were added as a little something extra, like dressing up a trench coat.

Sequins & Shimmer

Everywhere from London Fashion Week to New York, and now Paris, we’re seeing designers say bye to fall and hello to the Spring & Summer with sparkles, shimmer, and sequins. While, shimmer has been having a few moments for a couple of years now, it’s never made such a statement across the board. At PFW, designers created a whole bunch of shine at shows like Louis Vuitton, Rochas, Dries Van Noten, and Saint Laurent.

Scarves

Yes, you read right. But, we aren’t talking about the usual scarves. We’re talking about layered scarves and scarf-dressing. Designers like Christian Winjants, Issey Miyake, and Veronique Leroy took scarves and created something totally new.

Oversized

Paris Fashion Week was all about big shapes and big volume. The cool-girl trend we’ve been seeing everywhere of wearing oversized jackets and throwing them off the shoulder, it isn’t going anywhere! It’s time to bring back the baggy, whether that’s sleeves, shirts, or jackets.

Nude dresses; lace, and sheer are here to stay. In fact, they’re getting bigger and better by the minute. Designers are using tulle, PVC, see-through bags, and fingerless gloves to show some skin the unconventional way!
