Reminds us why we fell in love with the brand in the first place
If you go back and look through her 2012 collections, you’ll see that they’re as wearable today as they were then. And that’s what makes Payal Khandwala’s creations so great. Timelessness in fashion is everything, and a garment is only as good as the amount of times you can wear it.
So to celebrate her 5th year as a label, Payal went back to what she started out with. Strong colors, easy silhouettes and playing with proportions have always been the brands strengths through these years, and this collection revisits exactly that.
“As a philosophy, we have never focused on trends or even fashion for that matter. Our garments have always maintained a very personal point of view, shapes are both free spirited yet classic and remain easy but luxurious.”
You’ll also notice a strong, solo print story in this collection and here’s what she has to say about it,
“As a painter I love the idea of a strong visual to communicate a concept. So this season the starting point of our print story was a cluster of roses - a simple thought, but a strong reference. A motif that is central to the perceived dichotomy of femininity and strength”
I’ve been a fan of the brand for as long as I can remember, so I might sound biased when I say that I like each and every piece I see. But just look at them, can you blame me?
Payal Khandwala retails out of two flagship stores in Mumbai and a third one in Delhi and also at stores like Ensemble, Good Earth, Atosa and Ogaan.
