Our 6 Favourite Ways To Wear Sports Luxe

Meghana Rabindranath

None of these outfits were designed to be worn anywhere near a treadmill

We’re declaring it: fashion is all about comfort. Before you call us crazy, consider this – sales of high heels have fallen exponentially over the last two years while sales of sneakers and flats have risen; normcore was a thing for a while and you can say that its effects still linger in the form of a little trend that started a couple years ago called athleisure. We’re not sure how wearing leggings to brunch (and even to work, depending on where that is) became acceptable – we like to think designers like Alexander Wang and Stella McCartney had something to do with it – but we’re not complaining! Who doesn’t want to be comfortable and look stylish at the same time?

Sure, most athleisure isn’t actually designed to be worn anywhere near an actual treadmill, but who cares when you can be comfortable and stylish at the same time? We’re suggesting breaking the bounds of athleisure with signature metallic and luxe velvet pieces – here are some of our favourite looks for inspiration!
