If there ever was one fine way to beautifully blend the decadent disco aesthetic of the 70s and the muted, edited-but-raw fashion of the modern day, it would be this gorgeous teal eye. We really seem to be into expansive washes of colour on the eyes at the moment, and when you give that a glitter ball twist, the result is a magical, shimmery look that’s perfect for both day and night.
We wanted to create all the above adjectives on a lovely face, so we asked Andreza to lend us hers. Complexion: fresh and rosy, lips: glossed over, and eyes washed over with a retro-modern metallic sheen – just the look to rock out in on a Saturday night or even wear to a fancy gallery event.
We created a luminous base on her skin first – only a minimal amount of concealer and a swipe of highlighter on the cheekbones. Next, using an eyeshadow brush, we applied the eyeshadow all over the lid, venturing a little into the upper lid – diffusing on the outer corners, and finished off by lining the lower lash line with a flat brush. A touch of pinkish-white shimmer on the inner corners of the eyes, blended in with the shadow, and finally a rosy pink lip topped off with a clear gloss – and the retro fireworks were sounded!
