This Ombré Lip Takes Literally Two Steps

One, two, smize.

When it comes to beauty trends, there’s no doubt that Korea’s way, way ahead of everyone else – this is the country that introduced us to sheet masks, sleeping packs and pore strips, after all. It isn’t just skincare, either – Korean makeup trends are currently all the rage, too.

Case in point: the ombré  lip. First seen on Korean soap opera stars, the look was quickly adopted by beauty bloggers and it wasn’t long before designers were sending models with just-bitten, two-toned lips down their runways – Dior, Miu Miu and Prabal Gurung all featured them over the last few seasons, and for good reason – it’ll make even the thinnest lips look way, way fuller. Who doesn’t want that?

All it takes is two complementary shades of lipstick, one light and one dark – and two steps.

Step 1

Go over the lower half of your top lip and the upper half of your bottom lip with the lighter of the two shades (we used Jane Iredale’s Lip Crayon in Naughty).

Step 2

Next, line your lips with the darker shade (Maybelline Color Sensational Velvet Lips in Maestro). Taking a lip brush, blend the shades together – and you’re done!

Fuller lips in two steps - can't complain!
